The Making of Albemarle

The opening of our Albemarle Street flagship store provided Amanda with the perfect opportunity to indulge her passion for interior design. A desire to create a warm, inviting, yet glamorous environment was the starting point for the design of our store.

Each room is named to reinforce the feeling of a home and create that welcoming and relaxed environment. The Hall, The Gallery, The Landing and The Drawing Room, each build a feeling of familiarity.

Including and enhancing existing interior features like the listed staircase was hugely important in maintaining the integrity of the space. Installed in 1920s by a couturier, the grand sweeping staircase once played host to fashion shows. It has been lovingly restored and given a contemporary touch with a beautiful, hand-stitched leather banister.

Warm and homely the space has been beautifully cared for with the large windows carefully returned to their past glory.

Colours are kept neutral allowing our collections to hold the focus, while the flooring is rich dark wood parquet with gold inserts.

A piece that is particularly special is the draped chain chandelier that hangs proudly in The Drawing Room. Amanda flew to Italy working directly with the craftsmen on the piece, in order to perfect the chains and the balance. Each piece of furniture has been selected and curated by Amanda down to the smallest details, such as a sink made from petrified wood in the bathroom.

Vintage and bespoke items come together, with an emphasis on natural, sleek shapes and metal detailing to create a timeless look. Elegant and simple, it is a functional and beautiful space that reflects our clean glam aesthetic, un-cluttered with luxurious touches.
